SNS Reaal, Cordaid support Access to Medicine Index

HAARLEM, THE NETHERLANDS (September 26, 2008) — SNS Reaal, a Dutch banking and insurance service provider, and Cordaid, an international development organization based in The Netherlands, have pledged financial support for the Access to Medicine Index.

SNS Reaal pledged an amount of 50,000 Euros for 2008; Cordaid, an organization with almost a century of experience in providing emergency aid and combating poverty, committed 30,000 Euros per year until 2010.

“Cordaid sees a key role for the Access to Medicine Index in stimulating stakeholders to increase global access to healthcare and medicines,” said Monique Lagro, sector manager Health at Cordaid. “By helping to make the Access to Medicine Index possible, Cordaid contributes to tangible results for millions of people lacking access to vital, affordable healthcare.”
